Now the Liszt Institute London and The Rosemary restaurant is organising a workshop series to introduce Hungary’s sweet side to you as well.
From Budapest’s historical and glamorous café houses to our grannies’ traditional baking traditions,
you will have the opportunity to learn the tricks of some of our best puddings from experienced chefs.
Come and learn how to make a dough for strudels, dumplings, or scones and how to create
delicious creamy fillings with curd cheese, poppy seed, plum, or walnuts.
Take part in a one-hour hands-on culinary experience with interesting information and stories about Hungarian cuisine, the origins of the desserts, customs, and everyday life.
Our second guest chef is Szabolcs Böszörményi, who will bake a delicious Hungarian walnut pie with Mihály, the owner of The Rosemary restaurant from his grandma’s cookbook. Apart from working as a chef at The Rosemary restaurant for seven years, Szabolcs teaches and composes music too.
This is a traditional Hungarian recipe that is near and dear to Mihály’s heart since it is inherited from one of his grandmothers. The cake was a regular star at the Sunday family dinner table or birthday celebrations in his childhood that he spent in the rural Békés county.
His grandma noted down the secrets of the recipe with precise instructions so it can be passed down and enjoyed through generations.
